Madaline Collins - creating dramatic piano driven soundscapes

Madaline Collins is a Memphis musician performing and releasing her own music.

She is self taught on piano and has been performing and composing since she was 15.

Her style is introspective and reflective, augmented by powerful piano led arrangements that evoke the influences of Fiona Apple and Natalie Merchant.

Regarding her writing ,it is not always a planned process, she states :

“Sometimes lyrics come first and sometimes the instrumental melody and sometimes it all happens at once in the course of 30 minutes!”

There is an honesty in the songs and an unfiltered feel of an artist following her own vision and voice.

She has expanded her sound with her band “Screamer” which adds an alt-rock feel to the tunes in a full band context with guitar, bass and drums.

On “Can’t Go Back” from the brand new Screamer EP - the track ebbs and flows with her trademark 6/8 feel as her expressive vocals soar.

Check out “Devil In Me” - again the trademark 6/8 piano led feel -that stands up either as a full band arrangement or solo piano and voice.

She performs around Memphis at Zebra Lounge,Lamplighter and South Main Sounds.

Go check out this exciting new artist who is developing her craft.
