Howard Roberts - jazz guitarist , educator and session guitarist on countless iconic TV themes

Howard Roberts (1929-1992) can be heard on countless classic TV and movie themes from the 60’s : Batman , I Love Lucy , Twilight Zone , Mission Impossible and Bullitt.

He also recorded with Elvis , Peggy Lee - was a member of the Wrecking Crew and played on approximately 2000 records.

Anyone coming of age as I did during this time- will immediately recognize "just the right guitar part” that would captivate and probably inspire legions of future guitar players in some way as it did me!

He was an accomplished jazz player and left an impressive legacy of albums all through his career.

In later years he established the Guitar Institute and Musicians Institute in Hollywood , CA - working in the educational field.

Of equal note is his signature Gibson and Epiphone guitar models - notably the Howard Roberts Fusion - which is an extremely articulate and expressive semi hollow instrument capable of covering every genre from rock to jazz.

His main instrument throughout his earlier career was a modified 30’s Gibson ES 150 purchased from jazz guitar great Herb Ellis in the 50’s.

Go check out Howard Roberts - especially his early 60’s albums - and also his Fusion signature Gibson guitar.
