Nia Nicholls - integrity and high standards in this British songwriter

Nia Nicholls is a British singer songwriter that is spending more and more time winning over new audiences -performing in the USA  (Memphis and Nashville in particular).

She writes virtually all her own songs - with only a few collaborations with Nashville writers.

Thats what gives her an authentic style and voice.

Yes its contemporary and definitely you hear country pop in the there - but its deeper than that when you listen to her new song “I Wrote You A Love Song”.

The heartbreak and betrayal in the song will grab you like an old country song - but its her own unique style: the lilting 6/8 waltz feel , the vulnerable vocal and the minimal and tasteful production that will pull you in.

Its as sad as a Tammy Wynette song but its not a remake - its unique and refreshing.

Sometimes being from across the pond makes you synthesize the influences in a different way!

Another song “Forever Hold My Peace” is hook laden - country roots - but Beatlesque all at the same time.

Great harmonies and lyrics telling a sad and ironic story that reflects real life.

Nia has received much airplay in the UK from BBC Radio Solent and BBC Radio Wales.

Recently, her single “Exes” was made BBC Introducing’s Track of the Week and one of the Best Tracks of the Year.

Nia has spent the last two months in the USA, where she has been performing and co-writing in Texas, Nashville and Memphis. This comes after she hit 1 million streams across her releases on Spotify.

Currently, Nia is supporting American songwriter, Dean Friedman, on a few of his UK tour dates in 2024.

She is only just getting started and has integrity in her writing ,a unique style all to herself that’s getting better and better!
